About RED Hotel
RED South Beach Hotel located at 3010 Collins Avenue was built in 1930 and is in the “Collins Waterfront” historic district . The building is considered to be in the Modern Style or “Streamline” Modern which took influence from the new “streamlined” character of luxury cruise liners and automotives of the 1930’s. The style is characterized by the continuous “eyebrows” (ledges above the windows) found around the building.
The architect was T. Hunter Henderson (who also designed the Astor and Lindberg Hotels in Miami Beach) and the builder was Charles Rubin. The building has had many names including The Monroe Towers, The Signum Resort, The Villa Capri All Suites Hotel & Beach Club and The Habana Libre Beach Resort.
On November 1st, 2010, after extensive renovations, 3010 Collins Ave re-opened as RED South Beach Hotel, and was recently acquired by the Assouline and Busch family at the end of 2022. This property marks the beginning of Stay SoFlo’s entry into the hotel sector of their hospitality company, as they aim to grow their South Florida footprint in the coming years. New renovations should begin towards the end of 2023, enhancing the property with a more modern design, and creating a luxury experience for our guests.
